A Child and Family Services case aide has been charged and suspended from work after marijuana was found in his car while driving with a child in his care.
“The case aide was immediately put on leave even before the charges were laid and we will now be working with the agency to review the circumstances to see if any further action will need to be taken,” Elsie Flette, CEO of the Southern First Nations CFS, said tonight. “We’re concerned as is the agency that the child was in the car.
On May 21, a man was driving on Highway 222 around 6 p.m. in the RM of Rosser when Headingley RCMP pulled him over.
RCMP have released few details, but confirmed that marijuana was seized.
Two men were charged today with possession for the purpose of trafficking, RCMP said.
Only one of the two men charged is a CFS employee, Flette said.
