Calgary police employee charged with trafficking

CALGARY — An employee with the Calgary Police Service has been arrested in a drug trafficking operation.
Van Thanh Pham and Lan Nguyen are charged with trafficking and production of marijuana, along with theft of utilities. Dang is a civilian member of the Calgary Police Service.
She has worked as the customer service administrator since June 2006, and is currently suspended without pay. Both will appear in court June 17.
The Southern Alberta Marijuana Investigative Team targeted two homes.
Officers went in with search warrants and discovered what they are calling sophisticated marijuana grow operations.
More than 400 plants were seized along with a number of bags of pot that were ready for distribution.
