Charges pending after two die in Saturday Red Deer, Alta., traffic crash

RED DEER, Alta. – RCMP say a man faces charges after two people were killed in a traffic collision in Red Deer, Alta.
Police say alcohol may be a factor in the crash.
RCMP say a pickup truck hit the driver’s side of a Chrysler Neon early Saturday morning.
A 35-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man in the Neon, who were both wearing seatbelts, died at the scene.
The 22-year-old driver of the pickup, from Sedalia, Alta., was treated in hospital and later released.
Police arrested the man, who was in police custody.
