Stratford police search for two women in connection with fraud investigation

STRATFORD, Ont. – Police in Stratford are trying to identify two suspects from the Toronto area wanted in an ongoing fraud investigation.Police say a woman has opened up bank accounts in Stratford and Woodstock by using fake identification in the name of ‘Maria Louise,’ ‘Louise Maria’ and ‘Isabella Peralta’ and may have used other false names.
Police say once the accounts are open, stolen and forged cheques originating from the Greater Toronto Area are then deposited.
The funds, ranging from $4,000 to $52,000 are later withdrawn from the accounts.
Stratford police have released video surveillance images of the suspects.
