JURY POLL

Should a Manitoba judge caught up in a sex scandal be allowed to continue sitting on the bench?
YES. I don't see how this impacts her ability to preside over cases.
NO. This brings the administration of justice into disrepute.

Missing girl ’cheerful’ after being found with mom in hotel, Toronto police say

DATE: Jan 27, 05:00 PM

THE CANADIAN PRESS
TORONTO — Police say a Toronto girl who was the focus of an Amber Alert was OK and “very cheerful” when police located her and her mother at a Mississauga hotel on Wednesday afternoon.
Det. Pat McGrade told a news conference there was no confrontation of any kind when officers showed up at the hotel where three-year-old Madison Young and her mother Sarah Young were staying.
He would not say how police learned where they were, but did say police had received hundreds of responses to the Amber Alert.
McGrade said they had not been able to interview the mother because she was taken to hospital with an unknown medical complaint.
She was under police guard Wednesday evening.
Police had issued an Amber Alert and urged the mother to contact them, saying they were concerned for the girl’s safety. They gave no details about their reasons for concern, citing privacy issues.
“The little girl was very cheerful, we provided her with a couple of teddy bears, a couple of books,” McGrade said, adding Madison has been taken for a medical check.
