Mother of missing Florida toddler leaves jail again
DATE: Sep 5, 05:34 PM
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The mother of a missing Florida toddler has been released from jail.
Casey Anthony walked out of the Orange County Jail about 10 a.m. Friday. Anthony was seen wearing an ankle monitoring bracelet and a white T-shirt featuring her 3-year-old daughter after posting $500,000 bond for the second time. She is charged with child abuse and making false statements to investigators.
Her daughter, 3-year-old Caylee Anthony, was reported missing in mid-July from Orlando. The girl hadn’t been seen for a month before Anthony told authorities.
Detectives say they have evidence that Anthony’s trunk had contained a decomposing body, likely her daughter’s. However, no other charges have been filed against Anthony.
Prosecutors asked for a high bond, hoping Anthony wouldn’t be able to get out. Two local bond agencies posted the bond for her Thursday.
